Bassotto
Hidden next to Tamale Boy at 1760 NE Dekum, today’s stop reminds me why I’m doing this #pdxcoffeehunt. Bassotto is an absolute gem of a coffee shop disguised as a Gelato place. Great coffee. Awesome environment. Wonderful people behind the counter. Love. Love. Love.

Goldrush Coffee Bar
Located next to the delicious Russel St. BBQ, I have often been curious about Goldrush. I am curious no more. The coffee was decent, but the interior was down right filthy. I likely won’t be back. Can you make out the “Internet cafe” services in the picture?

If you’re a basketball fan, then you will likely remember April 13th 2016 for quite some time: -Kobe scores 60 in his final game -Curry breaks the 400 barrier for 3’s in a single season -Warriors break the 95-96 Bulls record with 73 wins

The Fresh Pot
There are surprisingly only 2 coffee shops in the Mississippi district:Locale and Fresh Pot; this one being a bit rough around the edges. Serving Stumptown (Peets?) it had plenty of seating, and despite feeling a bit grimy the atmosphere was generally pleasant. #pdxcoffeehunt

This is great and sad on so many levels:

Locale Coffee
If you’re in the Mississippi area and looking for coffee, Locale is probably the best option for you. It’s a fairly small venue, but they (fortunately) serve Heart coffee and the atmosphere is very pleasant. This is definitely one I would revisit in the future.

Starshot
This makes me very excited:
-
Kopi
Nestled next to Screen Door at 2327 E Burnside St, Kopi styles itself as an Asian-fusion coffee shop and mostly pulls it off. The menu is eclectic but the coffee is smartly from Water Avenue. While this might not be the cafe for everyone, I quite enjoyed it.

Batter
I cut today’s coffee shop visit a little close today because of family commitments, but fortunately, Batter (4425 NE Fremont St) stays open late with breakfasts. If you want a late night breakfast or coffee, this is one of the few places in Portland you can find open.

Seven Virtues Coffee
Today’s cafe was another pleasant surprise. Located in the new “Zipper” building at 2705 NE Sandy Blvd, Seven Virtues has great coffee, homemade syrups and a very pleasant, quiet vibe with a decent amount of seating. I will definitely be spending more time here.

Bison Coffee
I really wanted to like Bison (3941 NE Cully Blvd) but the coffee was far too bitter for me and the ambiance was a bit too eclectic for my taste. Based on the steady stream of customers, it’s clearly a neighborhood favorite. It’s just not for me.

Prince Coffee
One of the best things about this 30 day challenge is discovering new neighborhoods. Today, I fell in love with the Kenton neighborhood and this gem of a coffeeshop that just opened up.

Fillmore Coffee
Decent coffee. Fairly good seating and a very good looking food menu. Located at 7201 NE Alisan St, it’s a bit of a drive from my house. Fillmore is a bit further East than most of the coffee shops I generally frequent but overall a nice find.

UConn
What UConn and Breanna Stewart have accomplished tonight is amazing and historic almost beyond comprehension.

Tiny's Coffee
My latte wasn’t bad, and there is quite a bit of seating, but Tiny’s (located at 2031 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd) really feels like a time warp back to the late 90’s at the dawn of the modern Portland coffee shop.

-
Saint Simon Coffee
Saint Simon is nestled into a hole in the wall at 2005 NE Broadway. It feels a bit like a carbon copy of other Portland coffee shops: spartan decor, Bake Shop pastries and the all too familiar oily, bitter Coava coffee. The staff were incredibly pleasant, however.

Miss Zumstein
Located at 5027 NE 42nd Ave, the atmosphere at Miss Zumstein is bright and airy with a lot of natural light. While my latte was good, albeit a bit milky, the wonderful looking/smelling baked goods are what will bring me back for a return visit.#pdxcoffeehunt

Great article about OSU and their challenge against UConn today. Absolutely love this team. espn.go.com/womens-co…

My rules for my #pdxcoffeehunt are simple:
- The coffee shop has to be in N/NE PDX
- It must be a shop I’ve never been to
- I must get a latte at each cafe

Twenty Six Cafe
Today, Brendan and I checked out a coffee shop that I've been curious about for a while. The ambiance was pleasant with a fair amount of seating. My latte was creamy and smooth with just a hint of bitterness. Overall I was pleasantly surprised.#pdxcoffeehunt
