If you are in the Kenton neighborhood you definitely should swing in to Presso! It’s a beautiful little shop with some of the best coffee I’ve had in Portland, and the interior is cozy and inviting. Seating is somewhat limited, but you won’t have trouble finding a table. Love love love!

Made some new friends last night at OMSI!!!

Tucked away in the corner of the Central Eastside condos is the amazingly adorable Roseline Coffee. They have fantastic coffee and wonderful, spacious indoor and outdoor seating making this a great place to both meet and work. Finding this one was delightful for me! I highly recommend!

I was cleaning out some books this weekend and found this little piece of history. At the time, I was attending Apple’s WWDC in SF and managed to make it over to Oakland to witness the first finals game that LeBron James won in Golden State. Epic.

Justin Timberlake just came and rode with our neighborhood Bike Bus!!!
Huge turnout. Nice job Portland!

Not sure if anyone else has run into this, but recently I’ve noticed a lot of affiliate links don’t work on my browser, which unfortunately breaks a LOT of the web. I discovered that somehow Private Relay had been turned off and turning it back on makes everything work properly again.

Despite the loss, it was fun evening at the Moda watching my young Trailblazers.

The Portland downtown Farmer’s Market is magical. It has to be one of the best in the world. The food and the smells and the buskers make it an amazing place.

This is NOT news. Do some real reporting for a change Oregonlive: “primarily for the catered meal featuring chorizo and beef skewers, carne asada wrapped asparagus and a make your own tostada bar”
Oh no! A tostada bar! Give me a break. Do better.

It’s a beautiful day in downtown PDX!

Texas toll road administrators using Hotmail email accounts seems 100% legit. I should probably pay this immediately to avoid fines!
-
Crazy good Blazers win tonight. Our offense really does flow so much better with Grant out of the lineup. Sorry CJ. We thought we traded you to a winning team… 😬

I’ve had it with billionaires. Finally shutting down Facebook and Instagram and Threads. (Already shut down Twitter a long time ago). Hopefully some folks end up following me here!
-
The MLK elementary school in PDX needs help with programs for their kids. Go here now and donate $5. You can do it. Skip your latte tomorrow. It’s for the kids.

This guy is a complete moron. Seriously. What???

My daughter gave me a Theragun as a gift and I’ve been surprised how much it hurts, and how much I use it. 🤷♂️

It was and still is Treason.

Finished reading: The God of Endings by Jacqueline Holland 📚
This book is very sweet in a very odd way. I recommend not researching anything about it before reading, though.

Last night in Palm Springs.

Year in books for 2024

Doing some reflecting this New Year’s Eve. We don’t know how much time we’ve been given – I want to make the most of it. What’s important? What’s just chaff in the wind?
-
At the Palm Springs Art Museum, I discovered a piece that brought back visceral memories from first learning graphics programming.
-
First time to Joshua Tree. Did not disappoint. The desert is seductive.
